عمومية هادئة للنواخذة.. الوكرة بشعار جديد
عقدت الجمعية العمومية العادية لنادي الوكرة اجتماعها العادي امس بحضور 23 عضواً وتضمنت العديد من التفاصيل المهمة التي تمهد لمنافسات الموسم الجديد في كافة الألعاب، كما تضمنت مناقشة تقرير مجلس الإدارة للموسم الرياضي المنتهي بأنشطته الرياضية والثقافية بالإضافة إلى عرض لخطة النشاط في الموسم الرياضي الجديد وعرض ميزانية تقديرية لهذا الموسم الجديد.
وبدأت فعاليات الجمعية العمومية بكلمة ألقاها عبد الهادي خميس المدير التنفيذي بالنادي رحب فيها بجميع الحضور قبل أن يبدأ مناقشة الأعضاء في جميع الأمور المتعلقة بالنادي وقامت الجمعية العمومية بالتصديق على محضر الاجتماع السابق ومناقشة تقرير مجلس الإدارة عن السنة المنتهية والتصديق على الحساب الختامي للسنة المالية المنتهية ثم تم فتح الباب أمام الاستفسارات الخاصة من الأعضاء حول كل الأمور المتعلقة بالنادي. وفي سياق متصل دشن النادي رسمياً هويته البصرية وشعاره الجديد، معلناً انطلاق مرحلة متقدمة وجديدة في مسيرة النادي الرياضية والمجتمعية، وذلك في الجمعية العمومية غير العادية التي عقدت أمس.
وأعرب سعادة الشيخ سعود بن عبدالرحمن آل ثاني، رئيس النادي، عن فخره واعتزازه بهذا التحول التاريخي، مؤكداً أن إطلاق الهوية الجديدة ليس مجرد تغيير شكلي، بل هو امتداد أصيل لإرث النادي ووفاء وعرفان لكل الأجيال والرموز الذين ساهموا في بناء أمجاد الوكرة وصناعة إنجازاته المتتالية.
وحرص رئيس النادي ونائبه الشيخ فهد بن حسن آل ثاني، خلال الحفل المتميز على تكريم عدد من رؤساء النادي السابقين وهم صقر محمد صقر المفتاح ويوسف محمد يوسف المحمود وسعادة الشيخ فهد بن حسن آل ثاني وسعادة الشيخ خليفة بن حسن آل ثاني الذي تسلم الجائزة بدلًا منه سعادة الشيخ حمد بن خليفة بن حسن آل ثاني.
كما حرص رئيس النادي أيضًا على تكريم الفائزين الثلاثة الأوائل في مسابقة الشعار الجديد التي أطلقها النادي خلال الفترة الماضية حيث فاز بالمركز الأول أسامة يحيى عبد الله وأدهم محمد عواضة بالمركز الثاني وفاز عبد الله ناصر الفخري بالمركز الثالث.
Belgium says Balogun red-card U-turn is 'incomprehensible'

Belgium Prime Minister Bart De Wever has not commented but appeared to get the claws out through his cat Maximus' official Instagram account.
"Red card? I'm still going to play!" Maximus quipped in a caption on a post showing him with a red card close to his paws.
When contacted by AFP to ask if the premier intended to respond himself, his communications team referred to Maximus' Instagram post.
Balogun, who has scored three goals at the World Cup, had been set to miss the clash in Seattle after receiving a straight red card following a video review for stepping on a Bosnia-Herzegovina defender's foot in the round-of-32 match the US won 2-0.
Under FIFA rules, a straight red card automatically triggers a one-game ban.
US President Donald Trump called FIFA chief Gianni Infantino asking him to review Balogun's punishment, two sources familiar with the matter told AFP.
FIFA to Review 64-Team World Cup Proposal for 2030
FIFA president Gianni Infantino said the governing body will consider expanding the 2030 World Cup from 48 to 64 teams.
FIFA will examine a proposal to expand the 2030 World Cup to 64 teams, president Gianni Infantino said, potentially adding another 16 nations to the tournament.
“A 64-team tournament is definitely an issue that will be examined and discussed in the relevant committees after this World Cup,” Infantino said.
Infantino described the 48-team format as a success and argued that broader participation could encourage football development in smaller countries.
The South American Football Confederation had previously proposed a one-off 64-team tournament in 2025 to mark the World Cup’s centenary.
At the time, CONMEBOL president Alejandro Domínguez said the expansion would allow more countries to participate in the anniversary edition, 100 years after Uruguay hosted the inaugural tournament.
The proposal has faced opposition from senior football officials. UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin said a 64-team competition would weaken both the World Cup and regional qualifying tournaments.
The 2030 World Cup will be hosted primarily by Morocco, Portugal, and Spain. Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay will each stage one opening match as part of the centenary celebrations.
Under the existing 48-team format, the tournament would feature 104 matches. A 64-team competition would require FIFA to revise the qualification system, tournament structure, and match schedule.
